Summary of Innovation
Kindred INDUCT is a high-speed, robotic workcell that automates the induction process using artificial intelligence (AI) to become smarter, faster and more efficient over time. Built on Kindred’s proprietary CORE/AutoGrasp™ AI platform, INDUCT accurately picks, maneuvers, and places items onto a moving belt, bomb bay, or tilt sorter. Using machine vision, grasping, and manipulation algorithms INDUCT can handle item sets of varying size, fragility, and materials, including merchandise boxes, postal packages, envelopes and more.
INDUCT was field-proven in an 18-month beta trial at a high-volume induction facility that sorts and processes 200,000 – 400,000 items per day. During that period the INDUCT workcell processed more than one million items with 95% accuracy to prove performance in the most intense real-world induction setting. INDUCT processed an average of 1,800 units per hour (UPH), with a peak speed of 2,000 UPH.
