What You Will Learn

Chances are, you’ve heard of a lift truck “operator assistance system” or “OAS” in the past year or so. But if you ask five people at ProMat what OAS means, you’ll probably get five different answers – the market’s understanding of the term is murky. The current OAS landscape is characterized by several similar, yet different offerings, each with different go-to-market strategies, technology stacks and most importantly, capabilities. Is it a specific product or technology? Or a new category that includes both established and new technologies?

This seminar aims to help attendees get a higher level of clarity regarding the meaning of OAS and what it can do in their operation. It starts from the ground up – defining the term and accounting for established technologies as basic as lights and alarms, all the way up to lift truck telemetry, stability systems and ultimately, the newest advances in operator assistance technologies – those that enable automatic performance controls based on the real-time operating environment.

This session provides a holistic explanation of enabling technologies and their corresponding functions, and even busts some common myths, equipping attendees with a clearer, more advanced understanding of the evolving OAS market.

Key Takeaways

- Get a concrete understanding of lift truck operator assistance technology and why it’s a hot topic
- Learn the building blocks of operator assistance technology, from established, basic offerings all the way to the most sophisticated external sensing and automated performance controls
